Annotation | This report - known as the Seebohm Report - recommended the bringing together of a number of local government departments, to include the services provided by children's departments, welfare services provided under the National Assistance Act 1948, educational welfare and child guidance services, the home help service, mental health social work services, and other social work services carried out by health departments and some housing departments. The report covers the needs of particular groups - including older, physically handicapped, and mentally ill people - and how their needs should be met; training; and the structure and its implementation. |
