Annotation | Medical schools in the UK have been revising their curricula to comply with recommendations made by the General Medical Council (GMC) in 1993. Among the new subjects being introduced is geriatric medicine. This paper assesses aims and objectives, content of the training programme, the nursing perspective, and the extent to which establishing multi-professional training and shared learning will have a positive effect on care of older people.
