Annotation | Housing associations are facing the problem of how to deal with unmet needs resulting from the effects of an ageing population combined with care in the community policies. This report aims to promote debate about the increase in tenants' support needs, how associations might identify these needs, and to discuss broad options for meeting these needs, including sources of funding for independence. The publication's title comes from the viewpoint, with its roots in the disability rights movement, that people should be allowed to control their own lives, identify their own needs, and be listened to by service providers. |
