Annotation | This article describes the development and evaluation of a multidisciplinary needs assessment tool, CarenapD, for people with dementia living in the community and their carers. The tool was developed through applying a theory of need, generating content, consultation of potential users and refinement and evaluation. Interrater reliability was assessed using the kappa statistic, and social validity was estimated using a measure developed as part of the development process. Results showed that the CarenapD is a reliable and valid multidisciplinary assessment of need for people with dementia living in the community and their carers. (AKM). |
