AnnotationTrends in Special Care ('95/96-TSC) is a national survey of nursing homes special care units for older people with dementia, including Alzheimer's disease, in the United States (US). The 1995 survey was designed to collect information comparable to the 1991 census, entitled National Survey of Special Care Units in Nursing Homes (91-NSSCUNH). This article presents a 1995 profile of special care units and compares the growth distribution, and characteristics of 1995 special care units using data from the 1991 and 1995 studies.
