Annotation | Examining the relationship between ageism, race, gender, and the structural processes at work in society, this chapter seeks to make visible older people - including those with dementia - and to challenge myths and stereotypical views regarding their sexuality. The authors argue that sexuality needs to be seen as an intrinsic part of what makes us what we are as individuals - our personhood - regardless of whether or not we remain sexually active, and regardless of sexual orientation. |
