Annotation | This article outlines the development of this new national programme to develop and test integrated, inter-agency strategies for an ageing population. 'Better Government for Older People' (BGOP) is being set up by the Cabinet Office, in partnership with the University of Warwick Local Authorities Research Consortium, Age Concern, the Anchor Trust, and the Carnegie Third Age Programme. The programme will aim to work with older people to provide them with: clearer and more accessible information on their rights; more say in the types of services they can get; simplified access to services; improved linkages between different agencies; and better opportunities to contribute actively to their local community. |
