Annotation | This chapter provides and overview of the state of the art in integration of acute and long-term care, reframing the debate to encourage public and private sector decision-makers to evaluate research and experience to date. The arguments for and against integration are explored, and key barriers to financing and service delivery are identified. Major considerations in designing and implementing integrated approaches, including financing, service delivery, and training issues are highlighted. (RH). |
