AnnotationOn 19th December 1996, the German town of Marktbreit was host to a number of events marking the 80th anniversary of the death of Dr Alois Alzheimer. Central to these was the opening of the house where Dr Alzheimer was born and lived, as a museum and conference centre. Lilly, one of the world's leading pharmaceutical manufactures in the research and production of medication for the treatment of psychiatric and neurological disease, acquired the house in the summer of 1995 and has now restored it. A newly founded society has been created, Lilly ZNS Forum im Alzheimer-Haus, to support and commemorate the work of Alois Alzheimer within the museum. (KJ).
