AnnotationPsychiatric symptoms and behavioural disturbances in dementia (sometimes referred to as non-cognitive features of dementia or neuropsychiatric symptoms) are important aspects of the clinical syndrome of dementia. Despite their significance, there have been few studies that have been carried out. This article reviews some studies on drug treatments for behavioural disorders: neuroleptics, anticonvulsants, antidepressants, and beta blockers. (RH).
