Annotation | The challenges facing investigators exploring non-biological treatments and management of behavioural symptoms for Alzheimer's disease (AD) is that innovative and creative approaches must be structured within the realities of practice and the abilities of caregivers. The author lists some key scientific questions, the resources or targets necessary for experiments, and the primary resources needed for advancing research. She concludes that the burden for caregivers will increase in intensity and duration, unless more systematic and effective behavioural treatments or management strategies become readily applicable and available for use in providing care.
