AnnotationThis article briefly discusses definitions of behaviour problems and behavioural interventions. Next, intervention points related to quality of life of patients with Alzheimer's disease (AD) are considered: cognition, activities of daily living (ADLs), agitation, social behaviour, non-social positive behaviours, and affect states. The article concludes with a discussion of three areas dealing with environmental aspects of AD care: the design of environments; effects of AD on social context; and AD in planned housing. (RH).
