Annotation | Most patients with dementing illnesses such as Alzheimer's disease (AD) will develop troublesome and disruptive behaviours at some point in the course of the disease. Behavioural disturbances pose particular management problems which are treatable in many cases, and should be a major focus of therapy in dementing disorders. This short article outlines methodological issues to be considered in the design of intervention trials: study design; location of study; patient characteristics; and criteria for success. (RH). |
