Annotation | Investigators have found evidence of American funeral companies using hard sell tactics to push pre-payment funeral plans in nursing and residential homes. The Office of Fair Trading (OFT) has called for independent regulation of firms such as Service Corporation International (SCI). While this issue is of concern, social workers helping people with funerals have found that the Benefits Agency's changes in rules for paying funeral grants are also causing grief and hardship. |
