Annotation | Assessment in long-term care is important for what it does well, and for what can happen if it is not done well, or not at all. Articles in this issue of Generations are organised into three sections, each highlighting a different aspect of assessment. The first, on the role of clients in the assessment process, explores how to promote better understanding of and respect for the client. The second, on choosing among established measures, comprises papers by leading researchers on their recommendations for specific measures to use in assessment. The third section, on making assessments useful and the link to clinical and service decisions, is on how to make better use of the information that is collected. (RH). |
