Annotation | Should legacies be used for passing on something from one generation to the next, or used for funding long-term care? Short articles in this issue of "Generations" are arranged in three sections. The first - on legal, moral and policy perspectives - considers legacies as possessions, philanthropy, intergenerational transfers, and as wealth to be taxed. Section 2 - legacy and meaning - explores various aspects of the importance of legacies (tangible or intangible) in the lives of people, and by which they might be remembered. Part 3 - paying for long-term care - discusses Medicaid eligibility, and whether people should use money they have saved for funding their long-term care in old age. (RH). |
