AnnotationThis publication summarises current expenditure information provided by local authorities over the period 1983-83 to 1993-94 which form the basis of the Department of Health (DoH) 'Key indicators' and a range of other financial statistics. Information on capital expenditure is based on returns from local authorities collated by the Department of the Environment (DOE). From 1994/95, this information is published annually in a DoH Statistical Bulletin, 'Personal social services current and capital expenditure in England', which summarises the main items of PSS current expenditure reported by local authorities.
