Annotation | The author outlines the problems of developing pharmacological treatments for Alzheimer's disease (AD), and describes the range of treatments available. Considerable resources have been devoted to pharmacological research concerning AD, but no agent has been found to be dramatically effective so far. Of those discussed in this article, Tacrine has attracted most attention, but its effects are modest and its side effects require close monitoring. |
