AnnotationPrevious research has produced evidence that frail older people can benefit both physically and mentally if they take moderate exercise. This study of the Fife Exercise and Frail Older People Programme was designed to elicit the perceptions and opinions of frail older people themselves on the experience and effects of taking part in exercise sessions to music. The interviews and participant observation show that these exercise programmes are making a positive contribution to the health, well-being and quality of life of older people, and that leaders should be given all possible support to carry out this work.
