AnnotationThis booklet outlines the Danish retirement policy, pensions system, housing, care services and cultural services relevant to older people in Denmark. A Part-pension scheme was introduced in 1987, which allows people aged between 60 and 67 to retire gradually from the labour market. In addition, a partial early retirement scheme was introduced in 1995. Social pensions are financed through taxation, and there are also various semi-public and private pension schemes in existence. Conventional nursing homes are no longer being built, and are being replaced by various types of separate dwellings, including sheltered housing.
