Annotation | Originally published in German as 'Traum und Tod' in 1984, this study is not concerned with problems arising in the treatment of dying people. Instead, it deals with what the unconscious of man - the world of his instincts and dreams - has to say about the fact of impending death. This work is based on four general themes: current-day death experiences and death dreams; the basic concepts of Jungian psychology which apply to the second half of life and to death; the death and resurrection symbolism of the Western alchemical tradition; and brief discussion of certain aspects of parapsychological research.
