Annotation | This document has been commissioned by the Association of Directors of Social Services (ADSS) to update the existing London Domiciliary Care Initiative (LDCI) guidance in the light of experience, and to provide more detailed guidance on standards and processes of voluntary accreditation. It aims to assist in the application of consistent and fair procedures for the accreditation of domiciliary care organisations by local authorities across London. It also aims to promote quality standards among service providers, as regards fitness of owner, manager, business, premises, staff, and care. The standards have been written to take account of proposed statutory regulation of domiciliary and day care services, to which end it is intended to inform the development of national guidelines by the Department of Health (DoH), as well as to produce a baseline of minimum care standards for domestic and personal care services. |
