Annotation | Despite considerable growth on the part of states in developing nursing home pre-admission review, there is limited research examining the effectiveness of this strategy. An evaluation of Ohio's pre-admission review effort finds that the costs of such an effort may not outweigh the benefits. Although principles of pre-admission review remain important, this paper suggests that such a review must be designed to recognise the high volume of short-stay applicants. (RH). |
