Annotation | In 1995, the Greater Boston Housing and Shelter Alliance made homelessness of older people a citywide priority. This article gives a brief overview of how the problem of older homelessness has developed in American cities, and in Boston in particular. The complex health problems facing homeless elders or those at risk of homelessness are discussed. The progress and achievements are reviewed of two multidisciplinary projects which aim to eliminate homelessness in Boston: the Elders Living at Home Program (ELAHP); and the Committee to End Elder Homelessness (CEEH).
