Annotation | The use of standardised assessments such as the Resident Assessment Instrument (RAI) are likely to assume greater importance, given the demand for long-term care and its implications for costs of health care as a whole. Person-specific assessments will enable care to be targeted to specific long-term care needs and treatment outcomes. This article sums up points arising from other papers in this issue of `Age and Ageing'. (RH). |
