AnnotationThe symptoms of dementia in younger persons (under the age of 65) are similar to that of older persons, however younger adults with dementia have different needs and their problems require a different approach. This leaflet briefly describes the prevalence and characteristics of early onset dementia, and explains the work of the Alzheimer's Disease society in this area. Included is a charter for younger people with dementia and their carers, covering the following points: early diagnosis, assessment and referral, access to specialist services, adequate financial support, good employment practice, and education, training and information.
