AnnotationThe Revised Elderly Persons Disability Scale (REPDS) is a dependency rating scale which is designed for use by staff working with people with dementia in institutionalised settings. The seven subscales of the scale are: physical problems, self help skills, confusion, behaviour, sociability, psychiatric observations, and nursing dependency. This training guide aims to familiarise users with the content and format of REPDS so that regular assessments are carried out in a standardised manner. In addition, it looks at how to use the information obtained from REPDS to inform care planning and placement decisions.
