Annotation	This guide is based mainly on the findings of a three-part programme of research undertaken by the Buildings Research Team, School of Architecture, Oxford Brookes University, which are published as `Buildings design and delivery of care services to older people'. It focuses on the design of buildings for the day care of older people, including those with mental health problems. Such buildings include not only day hospitals, but also day care centres provided by social services departments, voluntary organisations, and organisations in the private sector. The guide covers requirements relating to site premises, technical services, internal space and the planning of day care services within community care.
