Annotation | The development of open, peer-led groups is discussed. The article also deals with some commonly raised concerns, and the benefits and limitations of open groups. Two peer-led, open support groups for families caring for demented relatives are used as illustration. It is argued that peer-led, professionally facilitated groups can be effective and inexpensive resources for caregivers. (RH). |
