AnnotationResults of surveys of meals on wheels services conducted in 1995 by the Consumers' Association are summarised, and indicate general satisfaction with meals received. This article outlines the concern expressed by the Caroline Walker Trust that older people may not be receiving an adequate diet on the days and mealtimes when they are not receiving meals on wheels. Moreover, there is no common standard for the nutritional content of meals on wheels: 17% of local authorities stated that they did not provide a nutritional specification to their meals providers.
