Annotation | Drawing on data from the Canadian National Population Health Survey (NPHS), this paper looks at the risk of institutionalisation in different age groups. True risk of institutionalisation depends on the person's health, cognitive ability, and dependency on others for help with basic activities of daily living. It is concluded that the institutionalisation risk is not simply due to advanced age. |
