Annotation | This study examines barriers faced by family physicians (general practitioners) in the US. The authors developed a questionnaire which they sent to 1,013 randomly selected AAFP (American Academy of Family Physicians) members. Respondents felt comfortable with hospice care, but also felt that they did not receive adequate education in this area, stating that they did not have access to hospice programmes. They generally believed that their education in death and dying issues and in hospice care was inadequate. They did, however, feel comfortable in providing hospice care. (RH). |
