Annotation | This article describes the work of JABADAO, a company that has pioneered dance and movement-based work with older people, including people with dementia, in residential and day care settings. Instead of using structured activities, movement and dance are incorporated into everyday activities. The main benefit for patients with dementia is that it enables them to communicate without the necessity of speech. In addition, care staff can incorporate the principles of JABADAO into aspects of their work, giving them a new approach to working with patients. |
