AnnotationThe study described explores the attitudes towards exercise among a group of older people and their carers in a care home. The aim was to understand both groups' perceptions of exercise, and if and how this plays a part in their daily living activities. Those interviewed generally held positive, holistic attitudes towards exercise participation. The care home used for this study included rehabilitation in its philosophy of care. However, this intention was not always translated overtly, as day-to-day running of the home was the major priority. More research is needed to understand the barriers which prevent implementation of good intentions.
