AnnotationHomesharing is an innovative scheme, pioneered in the UK by the Community Care Trust, which aims to provide low cost, high quality care and support to older people who need help at home with everyday tasks. It is based on the barter principle in which an older person gives a room in their home to a young person, who in turn gives 10 hours practical assistance every week. This article explains how the scheme works, and includes a case study.
