AnnotationThe Asset and Health Dynamics Among the Oldest Old (AHEAD) study is designed as a longitudinal investigation of people aged 70 and over in the United States (US). Articles in this volume had their origin in an Early Results Workshop in September 1994 held at the Institute for Social Research, University of Michigan, with the support of the National Institute on Aging (NIA) and the Office of the Assistant Secretary for Planning and Evaluation (ASPE). Topics covered reflect the wide-ranging nature of the study, and concern: differences in health relating to race and socio-economic status; activities of daily living (ADLs); measurement of cognitive functioning; and family caregiving.
