Annotation | Population health is increasingly influenced by international factors beyond the control of individual governments. This is the second in a series of newsletters aimed at bringing information about the social and economic influences on health to a wider audience. It provides an overview of the divide between the average health status of people living in eastern and western Europe. At the same time, it illustrates that right across Europe, all countries share the common experience of social inequalities in health. New forms of cross-national collaboration are needed to ensure that all European citizens can look forward to the highest possible levels of life expectancy. (AKM). |
