Annotation | There is a strong scientific basis for screening women aged over 65 for breast cancer. However, following recommendations made in the Forrest report of 1986, and the perceived poor response rates of older women to screening, the NHS has adopted negative attitudes to older people, leading to policy decisions which disadvantage them. |
