Annotation | The workshop's focus was on how BT (British Telecom) could help organisations representing the needs of vulnerable people to apply technology to help meet those needs most effectively. Attendees divided into six groups to discuss: counselling, advice and support; crime, personal security and safety; access and mobility; carers and providers, and healthcare; fund raising, representation and consultation; and business development, information management and communications. The objectives of these group discussions were to: identify the needs of vulnerable people in terms of the technology (actual or potential) which could help enhance their lives and those who care for them; and establish ways in which such technology can be applied and packaged to reach the relevant customers.
