AnnotationUnder the National Health Service and Community Care Act 1990, local authorities are required to publish a community care plan every year. The plan is intended to inform the public about the changes, developments and priorities which the local authority and the health authorities are committed to progress in partnership with the private and voluntary sectors, and the local community. This document sets out the service plans for Greenwich, and provides information about services which Greenwich Council and Bexley and Greenwich Health Authority have agreed to be priorities for 1996 and 1997. It takes into account community care legislation to be introduced during the two years: the Carers (Recognition and Services) Act; the Community Care (Direct Payments) Act; and the Mental Health (Patients in the Community) Act.
