AnnotationThe aim of this study, funded by Age Concern Brighton, was to discover the opinions of a sample of lesbian and gay men, now in their fifties and sixties, about their future needs, with a view to: identifying their main concerns; understanding these in the context of the respondents' past and present lives; and informing those who organise services for older people of the particular needs of older lesbians and gay men. The unifying theme was the oppression experienced and feared by respondents at a personal, cultural and structural level. Their future needs have to be considered in the light of actual and feared repression. The report includes the questionnaire used and a list of recommendations for Age Concern to implement locally and nationally.
