Annotation | This briefing summarises two CPA (Centre for Policy on Ageing) projects which have minority ethnic communities as their theme. The CPA was commissioned in 1995 by a London Community Health Care NHS Trust to identify community health service needs of its black and minority ethnic older population, and how services could be targeted more effectively. During 1996, and with funding from the Esmée Fairbairn Trust, the CPA set out to explore the contribution made by Bangladeshi elders living in the London Borough of Camden to the neighbourhood and the life of the wider community. The resulting study, by Tarek Qureshi, 'Living in Britain, growing old in Britain: a study of Bangladeshi elders in London', is being published in 1998 as CPA report 22. Brief information is given on both projects. |
