AnnotationAs the computer industry puts more emphasis on software interface design, the average user has found today's applications more powerful and easier to use. However, many older adults still find the technology awkward and confusing. Older people's physical and behavioural characteristics are examined to identify improvements which could be made in the design of software. The results of a survey on the effects of older people's characteristics on their computer skills are presented. Several software solutions are suggested, and a prototype implementation of these solutions is given.
