Annotation | This descriptive study uses qualitative and quantitative methods to ascertain the benefits for institutions of higher education which sponsor programmes for older adults, and the loyalty of that group of students. The researcher held that a description of loyalty could best be determined through individual interviews, and by use of questionnaire, to gather a greater breadth of information on race, gender, socioeconomic level, past participation in higher education, levels and types of participation, and benefits to the institution, and how these variables related to the concept of loyalty. Findings indicate that older adults in learning-in-retirement institutes tend to hold feelings of loyalty for the higher education institutions sponsoring the institutes. |
