Annotation | In 1991, Australia's Department of Human Services and Health (DHSH) nominated successful ageing as a research priority, following which funding and policy shifts occurred. The Research and Development Grants Advisory Committee (RADGAC) of the DHSH reviewed the research agenda on health and well-being of older women, and the requirements of older women participants are reported. Older women's expectations include: well-being to remain a priority; full partnership in research on older women; recognition of diversity of experiences and expectations; functioning not morbidity should be the valid measure; and the need to bear in mind that health is affected by many outside influences. Older women wish to participate in such research, as well as in any significant action arising from it. |
