Annotation | This document reaffirms the British Geriatrics Society's recommendations of its policy on health education (1986), and is by way of support for health education and promotion outlined in the Health of the Nation Strategy - which is as applicable to those over the age of 75 as to the young. The Society responds to key areas in 'Health of the nation', but points to other areas of significant importance in improving older people's quality of life: health screening, diet, exercise, medication, and access to treatment. The document also suggests research and training, and targets for the year 2000. |
