Annotation | The Bangor Longitudinal Study of Ageing (BLSA) has run since 1979, and will end in 1999. This article presents findings from a 1995 study on successful ageing of 52 well elderly people still living in the community. The most important aspects were: having good health, associated with mobility and independence; having had a good marriage; and family relationships and friendships. The author comments on the significance of these findings for policy and practice. |
