Annotation | This article continues the series on aspects of mental health assessment co-ordinated by the RCN Steering Committee for Mental Health and Older People. Unless radical changes occur, younger people with early-onset dementia will continue to receive services which are designed for older people. Younger people with dementia experience a more extensive range of 'disturbed behaviours' during the onset and progression of their dementia. It is crucial that nurses strive to influence policy on services for younger people with dementia and their families. |
