Annotation | The author asks whether the NHS is discriminating against older managers in appointing younger people to the top jobs. A series of reports, 'Creative career paths in the NHS' by IHSM Consultants on behalf of the NHS Women's Unit, suggests that the NHS will eventually have to make use of its more experienced managers. Because of the shortage of resources, NHS trusts will no longer be able to afford to offer employees early retirement, and will therefore be forced to utilise their skills. |
