Annotation | Cognitive impairment is the main reason for long term institutional care for older people. The authors constructed a population based set of estimates of the future number of older people and the characteristics of cognitive impairment among them on the basis of a national survey of disability in adults by the Office of Population Censuses and Surveys (OPCS). They report future trends based on stable age specific rates of cognitive impairment and disability. |
